The Hungarian Prime Minister called the woke movement, which is growing intensively in the Western world, the new Marxism and stated: In Central Europe, we are inoculated against the new Marxism, we have a vaccine, a woke vaccine, because Marxism was in power here for 45 years.
In Europe, the greatest economic growth is in the Central European region, in the Baltic states, the V4, Croatia, Slovenia, Bulgaria and Romania, Viktor Orbán told the Czech newspaper . Today, without it, the EU would have hardly any economic growth, it would be a stagnant continent. He reminded that: previously it was thought that they could not operate the economy in Central Europe without the Westerners, but now the situation has reversed , the Westerners cannot operate their own economy without Central Europe. According to the prime minister, it is therefore not a dream that the V4 countries can successfully shape the future of the EU.
I call this the new reality in Europe, he said.
Viktor Orbán stated: Hungary must remain in the European Union, the single market is in the country's interest. But he wants Central European interests and aspects to be taken into account with a greater weight in proportion to the actual economic performance of the region , than they have been done so far.
We feel that compared to our actual economic performance and weight, our influence on EU decisions is disproportionately small. This needs to be changed, he noted.
Regarding the defense of the traditional national identity, the prime minister said: whoever is more persistent wins. He explained: education, family policy, the issue of school education, media regulation are all matters of national competence, no one can take them away from us. Viktor Orbán called the woke movement, which is growing intensively in the Western world, a new Marxism, which, although it uses different words, follows the same thought patterns as Marxism.
Marxism is successful or popular if it is preceded by a few decades of liberal governance and preparation, where culture, tradition, history and religiosity are ignored, he noted. - However, in Central Europe we are vaccinated against neo-Marxism, we have a vaccine, a woke vaccine, because Marxism was in power here for 45 years. He added: for Westerners, Marxism is an intellectual issue, but in Central Europe they know that if the economy and society are organized on Marxist bases, it will become a dictatorship, because Marxism and democracy are incompatible. According to Viktor Orbán, the West was a specific form of existence that grew out of Christianity and embraced rationality, and enlightenment and rationality became an inseparable part of it. Combined, it was the most competitive and successful world on Earth.
We are losing this now because we are abandoning the historical, Christian foundations, he pointed out.
The prime minister noted that he hoped that the entry of the Central European countries into the European Union would add an anti-communist, anti-Marxist, anti-Leninist culture to the current pan-European culture, but they are not asking for it.
In the interview, Viktor Orbán made it clear about the package of child protection laws: Hungary has adopted a law that states that parents have the exclusive right in school education, in education on sexual topics, LGBTQ activists or representatives of any other ideology are not competent in this . Regarding migration, Viktor Orbán said: there are double standards in Europe. Referring to the fence in Hungary and the Baltic countries, he said: if a liberal government does something, it's always good, if a conservative one does something, it's always bad, even if those two things are the same. According to the Prime Minister, the EU does not have to accept Afghan migrants, they should stay in the region, and Europe should help the countries of the region cope with the burden of those coming from Afghanistan.
But if the Germans so wish, Hungary will be happy to open a corridor, and Afghan migrants can reach Germany through it, he said.
In the interview, Viktor Orbán also pointed out that terrorist acts increased after the great migration invasion of 2015. The reality shows that there is a connection, a larger wave of migration means more terrorist acts. He drew attention to the fact that Brussels will try again and again to impose the distribution of migrants on the member states and we will have to veto it again and again at the council meeting , as we did with Prime Minister Andrej Babis years ago.
He emphasized: EU funds are available, they must be given sooner or later, but they are able to slow down the decision in Brussels. That is why the Hungarian state borrowed so much money from the money market - four and a half billion euros in loans, with an interest rate of less than one percent, as a "good deal" - that they could start all the development necessary for recovery after the coronavirus.
Not a single penny came from Brussels, but the Hungarian programs are already running, he pointed out.
Regarding the introduction of the 15 percent global corporate tax, Viktor Orbán stated: he generally does not support an international decision that interferes with the tax policy of a single member state. Touching on Hungarian domestic political issues, Viktor Orbán also spoke about the fact that human rights organizations and European bureaucrats remained silent against the bloody suppression of the demonstrations after the Öszöd speech, because violations committed by leftists and a leftist government are always forgiven . Regarding the relationship between the Czechs and the Hungarians, he said: there is a difference between the two peoples - the Hungarians are more attracted to Christian spiritual traditions and the Hungarians' national feeling is also more radical - and this can also be seen in the habits of the two leaders, but no one can dispute that Andrej Babis is one of the biggest fighters in Europe . Reacting to the German elections, Viktor Orbán said: something new is happening in Germany. He said: he is used to decisive German leaders, Bismarck , Helmut Kohl and even Angela Merkel were like that. If there is a dispute, a leader is always able to summarize the disputes, close them, and then create a predictable Germany. The big question now is whether this election result will result in a predictable, reliable Germany led by a great chancellor.
