Under the name Kristóf Migazzi Pedagogusképzési Özstöndíj, the Dioceses of Váci offer a new opportunity to those university and college students who are studying to be teachers, special education teachers or kindergarten teachers, and who undertake to be employed in educational institutions maintained by the diocese after completing their studies.

The purpose of the tender is to ensure the supply of teachers with appropriate education and qualifications in the public education and vocational training institutions maintained by the Diocese Catholic Schools Authority (EKIF) in the Diocese of Váci, and to make employment attractive for religious teachers committed to education according to Christian values. .

The announcement of the scholarship was announced at a press conference in Vác on September 28, at which the current situation of the teaching profession was reviewed by Vác county bishop Marton Zsolt; Zoltán Gloviczki, rector of Apor Vilmos Catholic College and Zoltán Selmeczi, director general of the local EKIF.

Diocesan, domestic, and even international trends show that within ten years, 30-40 percent of primary and secondary school teachers will retire, and there will be a huge shortage of professionals. According to educational experts, the most important task is to arrange teachers' salaries, and the social respect of the teaching profession must be restored.

In connection with the first semester of the 2021/22 academic year, applications can be submitted on paper until October 10, along with the application form and the necessary attachments listed on the website. In the case of an applicant starting his studies, the scholarship is determined on the basis of his admission score and, after the end of his first semester of study, on the basis of his academic results. The amount of the scholarship is a net amount, which can be HUF 150,000 - 375,000/semester.

The scholarship is named after Bishop Kristóf Migazzi Gróf, who was the senior pastor who assumed serious responsibility for the diocese for several decades, and his city and community building activities determined the development of the Váci Diocese in the long term. During his time, the cathedral was built, the ecclesiastical center was established in Vác and the former seminary was built, which today houses the Apor Vilmos Catholic University.
