Twenty-eight, mostly elderly, chronic patients died, and another 2,046 Hungarian citizens were diagnosed with the coronavirus, he said. So far, 5,909,819 people have been vaccinated in Hungary, of whom 5,679,589 received the second and 898,000 received the third dose.

The number of active infected people is 10,143. Hospitals treat 715 coronavirus patients, of whom 109 are on ventilators.
There are 5,339 people in official home quarantine, the number of samples taken is 7,071,702.
The new diseases are caused by the delta virus mutant.
Unvaccinated people are at greatest risk, so they are asked to register and get vaccinated as soon as possible. Due to the delta variant of the coronavirus, the number of infected people is rising again in several countries, including in Hungary.
However, in the current wave of the epidemic, a big advantage is that there is already a vaccine and most people have been vaccinated, which "means the strongest protection against the virus". Less than one percent of those vaccinated get sick, and the course of the disease is usually much milder than those vaccinated. The majority of the Hungarian population has registered for vaccination and has already received it. Those who have not yet registered can still register on the www.vakcinainfo.gov.hu . After registration, it is possible to book a vaccination appointment at the general practitioner's office or online www.eeszt.gov.hu .
