On October 23, at 2 p.m., the Peace March will start in front of the Polytechnic University, László Csizmadia, president of CÖF-CÖKA, and András Bencsik, editor-in-chief of Demokrata, announced on behalf of the organizers. The march will cross the Freedom Bridge to Deák Square, the site of the state ceremony, where Viktor Orbán will also give a speech.
László Csizmadia added: the gathering starts at 1 p.m.
- We want to demonstrate with a calm, peaceful and quiet unity that the Gyurcsány terror happened here 15 years ago, which punished peaceful people with horseback attacks, eyeballs, broken bones, water cannons and viper lashings. Blood flowed again on the streets of Pest. Democracy has been mocked, he emphasized.
This year's motto will be: "Never again!"
András Bencsik said that this will be the most important Peace March so far. As he said, it is unique that love and fear bring hundreds of thousands to the streets.
According to the editor-in-chief of Demokrata, we have to face evil again, we have to prevent a corrupt force from seizing power in Hungary. Saint Michael's prayer can give strength in this struggle.
"We won't be alone." Hungarians across the border will be with us and we will have foreign friends from Poland and Italy, for example.
The location of the state event is no accident: 15 years ago, on October 23, 2006, the Hungarian state led by Ferenc Gyurcsány attacked its own citizens here.
