For months, the left-wing city administration has been lying about the sailing mittens affecting the district's Balaton beach, Józsefváros Fidesz announced in its statement.
Fidesz points out: the VIII. the district municipality hid the contracts for a long time and after they were forced to conduct an internal investigation due to the scandal, they also hid the results.
"During Thursday's scandalous council meeting, we finally managed to obtain the report, which shows at first glance that serious abuses may have occurred in several cases around the municipality's premises. It seems that there is a basis for the published press reports about the suspicious circumstances surrounding the rental of the beach, which is also confirmed by the fact that the head of the municipal company involved in the case, Gyurcsány's confidant, resigned from his position on Wednesday evening.
The report also shows that it is not an isolated case, suspicions of corruption and other crimes arise in connection with several cases. The Józsefvárosi Fidesz will thoroughly examine the report and we will take the necessary legal steps," the announcement emphasizes.
Sára Botond, the government official in charge of the Government Office of the Capital City of Budapest , wrote on social media on Wednesday that to this day nothing can be known about how the Józsefváros beach was first taken over by a "friend's" sailing company for 3 months and then for 5+5 years. According to the Fidesz politician's view, the situation looks very much like this, the stretching of the beach is also due to the fact that Gyurcsány's circle of trust is not strong even in Józsefváros.
