The new wage subsidy, available from November, encourages the employment of qualified job seekers under the age of 30. In the first ninety days, the program covers the costs of the newly hired employees gaining work experience, after which they can also apply for 100,000 forints per month Enterprise labor support for half a year. The government can make it easier for a qualified young person to find a job by assuming a total of HUF 1.9 million in employer expenses, Sándor Bodó, the state secretary responsible for employment policy at the Ministry of Innovation and Technology, pointed out in the ministry's announcement on Tuesday.

The companies must first undertake to employ full-time or at least 4 hours a day part-time work for young people who have obtained a vocational qualification or higher education in the school system or adult education since 2011, he reminded. Taking into account the entire workforce, up to ten employees, up to two jobseekers can be paid at the same time, and over ten people, a maximum of 30 percent of the total number of employees can be paid for the work experience grant, which can be paid for a total of 90 days. Its rate is 100 percent of the employer's gross salary and social contribution tax, but in the case of full-time work, it is at most twice the guaranteed minimum wage per month, i.e. HUF 438,000. The employer can then request labor support for Enterprises who have been looking for a job for 6 months, on the condition that the wages are not reduced compared to the previous period, they explained.

Support applications can be submitted from the first of November

to the district (capital district) office, which is competent according to the place of residence and residence of the person to be employed, acting as a state employment agency. Detailed information can be found on the employment portal munka.hu.

Sándor Bodó explained in the announcement:

"The new program element encourages employers to give young people with professional qualifications a chance.

If they convincingly prove their talent, preparation, and diligence, they can gain the trust of the company for a longer period of time than during the subsidized period. The number of registered jobseekers fell below 250,000, which is even more favorable than last January's level. There are 50,000 fewer people compared to the beginning of 2021, and 130,000 fewer compared to last summer's employment low point. With the support of the labor force of Enterprises, the government contributes HUF 14 billion to the placement of more than 26,000 job seekers, almost half of whom are under the age of 25. says the statement.
