"...I really like the Hungarians: we are a family-oriented, justice-seeking, brave people. I am proud to have been born among you!" Fruzsina Skrabski, a Hungarian film director, producer, screenwriter and journalist who dissects mainly Hungarian historical, political and social topics, shared her confession in her Facebook post
"It seems that I have to define myself from time to time, because it gives me something to hold on to in this bubble world... But so be it!
Let's start from the beginning: I am the daughter of Mária Kopp, a doctor-psychologist, and Árpád Skrabski, an engineer-sociologist.
Both of them were very loving, selfless, brave and smart people and they raised us to be like that.
My mother was a mystic, she taught me that it is possible to have a relationship with dead relatives, and from a young age it was natural for me to talk to my grandmother, whom I never knew personally.
My father philosophized a lot and his principle was that I dare to think about everything, because if I have a unified worldview, then I can't have any problems with thoughts.
My worldview was formed from a deep, inner relationship with God. It is like breathing for me, there is God and a big community in everything, I live in the world of all saints, where my dead parents also constantly encourage me.
I am a practicing Catholic, and I am raising my child to do so as well. I think of religion as a wonderful, sustaining community, which helps to immerse oneself in this noisy world.
I inherited the Three Kings, Three Queens Movement from my parents. They researched the Hungarian state of mind and found out that young Hungarians want many more children than are born. We help with this: we provide encouragement, a community, and a national network. It's a service to me.
My profession: good communication, representation of values. Movies help with this, but so does Facebook. In the films, I always stand by the victims and show them that there are many of us on their side. I will confront those responsible for them. I am also an activist, not just a documentarian. I have an opinion and I'm announcing it.
I think Facebook is a fantastic place, if you look at the impact, you can connect with a lot of people. I believe in conversations and debates, because that's how I solved my difficult situations. It is important to me that every slice of the truth is revealed.
At the same time, I try to praise a lot, but criticism is always louder. That's it, legality, but then I'm only writing the good stuff here. The praises of today's country:
– First of all, I really like Hungarians: we are a family-oriented, truth-seeking, brave people. I am proud to have been born among you!
– For the second time, I am happy that I can live in a country where families are protected and supported. We have beautiful cities and regions!
Even though we live in the semi-periphery, the economy is still booming. There are many smart people among us. Our doctors and researchers are world-class!
Our theaters and universities are wonderful.
There are fewer and fewer unemployed people, and plenty of well-intentioned people!
When we announced a fundraiser or volunteering, there was always an influx of applicants! Even Pope Francis was moved by the strong faith we have! There are certainly many more good things, write down why you liked living here!
(By the way, the picture was taken at the Angels of Families award ceremony, on the 10th birthday of the Three Kings, where all our supporters were there: from Csaba Böjte, through Katalin Novák, to András Lovas! I'm not crawling under the table, I'm waving my arms :)"
