a comparative survey was published on the support of the parties , today we got an idea of the difference between Viktor Orbán and Péter Márki-Zay thanks to public opinion researchers. But remember, you have to win an election, not a survey!
The support of Viktor Orbán is significantly higher than that of the left-wing prime ministerial candidate, Péter Márki-Zay , according to the latest survey of the Real PR 93. market and public opinion research company.
The campaign of the left-wing candidate for Prime Minister cannot gain momentum. When asked who they would choose as prime minister between Viktor Orbán and Péter Márki-Zay, 52 percent of Hungarians named Viktor Orbán and only 37 percent Péter Márki-Zay at the beginning of November, according to the research .
The breakdown by type of settlement shows that Péter Márki-Zay can only appeal to the relative majority of voters in the capital. With his 47 percent popularity in Budapest, he is just ahead of Viktor Orbán, who enjoys 43 percent popularity in the capital.
Moving away from the capital, the situation is quite different: in cities with county rights, an Orbán - Márki-Zay duel would already tip 45-43 in Orbán's favor. In other cities and towns, the difference is even more significant. In the former, the voters would support Viktor Orbán by a ratio of 53-37, and in the latter by 61-26. Therefore, Péter Márki-Zay fails to appeal to the countryside , without which there is hardly anyone who can be prime minister in Hungary.
2022plus: For those who support the civilian government, the big difference between the two politicians is of course welcome, but such measurement results are also dangerous. The Christian-conservative side has already indicated once that it tends to overestimate such messages. Then a part of the electorate decides that now everything is fine, we can sit back, there is no need to go to vote, since we have the measurable majority. In 2002, surveys showed a 7-8, and in some cases even 10 percent advantage for Fidesz, yet the MSZP candidate, agent D-209, became prime minister.
Confidence-boosting signals are gratifying, but an election can only be won with the votes cast. It is only allowed to calm down after the 5th Orbán government takes office.
