The National Investigation Agency has ordered an investigation into the sale of the property in the capital, about which Fidesz parliamentarian Gyula Budai filed a complaint earlier, and which came to light following press reports about the planned sale of the City Hall.

Gyula Budai told MTI on Wednesday: the investigative office informed him that the investigation was ordered following his report filed last week. The representative of the ruling party recalled that he filed a complaint against an unknown perpetrator due to well-founded suspicions of influence peddling, after a secretly recorded recording of two men discussing the acquisition of a plot of land in the capital appeared in the press.

He added: the press revealed that the XII. district, it is an industrial area that was purchased by Grébics Ingatlan Zrt. for HUF 101 million gross from the Metropolitan Municipality. Gyula Budai stated: based on the audio recording and the information published in the press, the suspicion was founded that the unknown perpetrators influenced an official when they went to the building of Budapest Capital Management Center Zrt. and agreed with an administrator working there to help win a tender, and therefore they also asked for an "advance" of two million forints for the help.

Gyula Budai also reported that he attached to his report the press reports published in the case, according to which Zsolt Berki, whose name was mentioned in connection with the supposed sale of the City Hall, played an important role in the sale and purchase of the property included in the report.
