Just over a week after the initiative was launched, the Civil Head of State Nomination Committee (CÁJB) suspends the civil initiative of the head of state nominator, according to their explanation sent to 24.hu. They are said to have recognized and understood the existing political situation, nothing can threaten the overthrow of Orbán.
Although we always consider it extremely important to learn about and respect the opinions of citizens who want a change of government, we do not want to jeopardize the success of the opposition's joint program, the statement of the joint list and the campaign by the possible division of attention caused by the presidential sympathy vote
– reads the announcement, which was signed by the committee members, Zoltán Fleck , Jenő Kaltenbach and Tamás Lattmann, László Mérő and Péter Szepesházi György They state that the constructive cooperation of civilians and parties – similar to the fall primaries – carries the possibility of serious success, which is why they are stepping back now, keeping in mind their main goal, the replacement of NER and Fidesz. The civil initiative for the nomination of the head of state will thus be suspended until the end of the election campaign.
