The German political system has fundamentally changed, it seems that the period of the people's parties is over - stated Gergely Gulyás, the minister in charge of the Prime Minister's Office, on Thursday in Budapest, at the conference Germany has chosen, organized by the Foundation for Civil Hungary.
According to Gergely Gulyás, the content of the program of the three parties preparing for the coalition government is far from what we think about the world and societies in Central Europe. As an example, he mentioned that the German social democrats, liberals and greens support legal migration and continue to think about a distribution mechanism, which the Hungarian government rejects.
The new German government also wants a United States of Europe and changes that can only be achieved by amending the EU treaties. Hungary is not the only one in Europe that would not contribute to this , said Gulyás.
Regarding the fact that, according to the German parties, different alternative family models should be recognized in all EU member states, he pointed out: Germany has nothing to do with other countries, including Hungarian family policy, and can only have an opinion on that.
According to the minister, the value judgment and worldview of the new German political direction is sharply opposed not only to the policy of the Hungarian government, but also to the social beliefs of Central European countries. This is not necessarily a problem if the policy of living side by side can prevail within the Union, but if this fails, sharp political debates await the EU, he said.
