The Transcarpathian Hungarian Pedagogical Association (KMPSZ) held a county report-election assembly on November 27, 2021 at the II. Ferenc Rákóczi at Transcarpathian Hungarian College.
The XXX. At the general assembly, Ildikó Orosz, the president of the KMPSZ, was the first to present his annual report, during which he looked back on the association's thirty-year history, the initial difficulties and the successes experienced in the past decades. He explained that now each region is represented in the presidency of the Association of Teachers, and as a result, the association can carry out operational work.
"We are here on the day of a new beginning, when in front of us are those basic organizations and those district leaders who fully cover Hungarian-language education, and the task before us is to try to expand this education and to regain the Hungarian language and for culture, the areas and villages from which it was forced out 30-40 years ago," the president highlighted.
"The task of the future is to strengthen this system and not allow ourselves to be convinced that mother tongue education has an alternative, because there is not. In addition, let's stand up, because this is our mission", concluded Ildikó Orosz.
After that, Béla Gabóda presented the annual report of the Audit Committee, and then András Kovács, director of Nagyberegi Reformed High School and chairman of the Textbook and Teaching Aids Council, also reported on their annual work. Éva Fodor, the office manager of the KMPSZ Methodology Center, summarized their work in 2021.
According to the amended statutes of the association, those present voted for the person of the president by secret ballot. The participants again elected Ildiko Orosz as the president of the KMPSZ.
At the event, the sports equipment purchased by KMPSZ for all Hungarian schools thanks to the support of the State Secretariat for National Policy of the Government of Hungary was handed over.
