This debate has been going on for many, many years in Hungary. The entire left is united in this. They do not hide their position from the public, the Prime Minister said.

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán on Friday morning on Rádió Kossuth Good morning, Hungary! was a guest of his show. The prime minister said at the beginning of the conversation: 1 million vaccines were administered in the last two weeks (until Thursday evening). Of these, 800,000 were the third and 115,000 were the first vaccinations, he informed.

2,600,000 people received the third vaccination

People's safety has increased significantly in the country. 2,600,000 people received the third vaccination, which is 27 percent, the prime minister explained. He added: the EU average is around 10 percent. With the third vaccination, the level of protection can be increased to 90 percent, said the prime minister. Viktor Orbán announced that new vaccination campaigns will be launched in the future. In response to a question, he said: everyone has fought fantastically so far.

The Hungarian healthcare capacity stands up well in the mud. In Austria, the hospital care capacity is much smaller, which is why they had to move"

said the prime minister.

Viktor Orbán said that the government will contact everyone personally, that those whose protection period will expire will be notified. Many people think that the two vaccinations are for life, and now they are asked to take the vaccine. There will be a vaccination campaign day in every settlement, said the prime minister.

Viktor Orbán said that compared to the lack of teachers, preventing children from getting sick is a much bigger problem, so teachers must understand this. We want those who deal with children to understand this. It is a legitimate expectation of parents to do everything for the health of their children, said the prime minister.

Viktor Orbán said about the new virus variant that there is currently no medical consensus on it. The fear of the first day or two was greater than what could have been justified, he added. It's better to be careful.

No one can interfere in the education of children

Viktor Orbán said about the Child Protection Act that we have an opinion on the matter of raising our own children and that neither the European Commission nor the Venice Commission can interfere. It is important that our children be Hungarian and carry on our culture. We will defend this position, said the prime minister. If we think like this, then this position must be defended. There is a wave in the West that does not respect the right of parents, that sex education is only the parent's job.

According to the prime minister, the rights of parents take precedence over everything else in this matter. We will stand up to protect our own children,

because we are under enormous pressure, he added. The government alone cannot protect the interests of Hungarians, and that is why the referendum is necessary. A similar thing happened in 2016, Viktor Orbán reminded. Hungary defended itself with a referendum, and now the same must be done. The situation is that they are really blackmailing us, but what comes is what comes, he added. Our economy is part of the single European market, the money belongs to us, and this situation cannot be maintained in the long term, said the prime minister. It's also a nervous game, he added.

The abolition of the child protection law is important to Brussels

Viktor Orbán said that the blackmail has no factual basis. Hungary is a normal country at the moment, but the pressure is enormous. If this matter were not important, the union would not want us to withdraw the Child Protection Act. This case is very important for Brussels, because they expect LGBTQ activists to be allowed into schools and kindergartens. If this matter were not important, then Brussels would not make a mess.

An election is not an afternoon outing, but a serious matter, and it is about what our future will be like. Brussels wants the government to make concessions on immigration, energy price hikes and child-rearing issues, but now this is not happening, that's why they want change

underlined the prime minister.

33,000 small entrepreneurs can receive help

Viktor Orbán also spoke about the fact that the large energy companies will not pass on their additional costs to consumers, and that they will have to bear the losses. The government has decided that 33,000 small entrepreneurs can enter the universal post-service tariff. Their sales revenue must be under 4 billion and under 10 people to enter it, explained the Prime Minister.

The left wants people to pay more

Viktor Orbán also spoke about the fact that Hungarian energy prices are among the lowest in Europe. The prime minister said: "the prices in Vienna are twice as high as those in Budapest, and the prices in Berlin are three and a half times as high. In the case of gas, they pay three times as much in Vienna as the Hungarians, and eight times as much in Stockholm." He added: "there is a big energy crisis in Europe and this is fueling inflation." But by maximizing the price of fuel at HUF 480, we can also curb inflation."

In response to a question, the Prime Minister said:

We want people to pay less for electricity, gas and gasoline. The left wants people to pay more for electricity, gas, and gasoline.

As he put it: "this market is nice, the state regulation debate, but the reality, when you pay, is that in our opinion it is good if you pay less, and the left says that it would be right, if you would pay more. This debate has been going on for many, many years in Hungary. The entire left is united in this. They don't hide their position from the public either."

In response to a question about the fact that, despite the statements of Mayor Péter Márki-Zay Péter Márki-Zay, the municipality of Hódmezővásárhely also demanded entry into the cheaper utility categories, Viktor Orbán said: "when I think about a municipality, I never only think about the leaders, but about the people who live there. I think it is good for both the people of Budapest and Hódmezővásárhely if people pay less for electricity and gas. The government opened up the possibility of this, just as small businesses and municipalities can also enter a settlement system with a more favorable price, we are happy if we can help", concluded the Prime Minister.
