The government gave 42 billion to the Mátra Power Plant, while the left handed it over to foreigners, and now it would close it, said the Fidesz spokesperson.
László Horváth explained in the recording: the candidate for prime minister of the left stated that the power plant is not worth maintaining, and that the thousands of people working there should find work elsewhere.
"This completely irresponsible and insensitive stance does not take into account the fact that the operation of the Mátra Power Plant and the hard work of the workers here are indispensable for Hungary's secure energy supply," the politician emphasized.
László Horváth underlined that the power plant is of strategic importance to the government, which is why it came back into state hands, and why it will be modernized in the coming years.
At its last meeting, the government decided to provide HUF 42 billion from domestic sources to the Mátra Power Plant in order to ensure the continuity of the energy supply and the preservation of jobs.
"The energy supply of Hungarian people and households, the power plant and the workplaces of the workers here are safe and will remain safe. And we are telling the prime minister candidate of the left to stay away from the Mátra Power Plant," said the Fidesz spokesperson.
