Our task is to resolutely, lovingly, but firmly repulse the attacks that were launched against Christianity - stated the State Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office responsible for church and ethnic relations on Wednesday in Ajak, Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County.
Miklós Soltész was educated at the Tamási Áron Catholic Primary School and Elementary Art School, Szent II. At the consecration ceremony of the school chapel named after János Pál, in memory of the late head of the church, he said that the pope was able to address everyone with his loving behavior and, when appropriate, was able to ask for forgiveness for the sins committed by Christianity in the past.
He was able to speak out against the advocates of a "wildly liberal world", he firmly and decisively accepted Christianity, and we have the same task, said the state secretary.
The children raised here and the teachers dare to undertake this journey in defense of Christianity, he emphasized. Miklós Soltész touched on the fact that the foundations, the "rocks" and messages that strengthen us in our Christianity and patriotism must also be laid in the schools operating in the Diocese of Debrecen-Nyíregyháza.
With these, we can boldly and clearly turn to Europe in order to save the continent, said the state secretary, noting that we think in this regard, for example, with the Poles and other Central European nations.
At the event, government commissioner Miklós Seszták, the region's KDNP member of parliament, encouraged those present to come to the school's chapel at any time, because its doors are always open to everyone.
The part of the building was consecrated by Ferenc Palánki, Bishop of Debrecen-Nyiregyház County.
Institution manager Mihály Rozinka said that in the past three years, the diocese has provided support to the school several times, in the amount of about HUF 94 million. During the investments, which also included the construction of the chapel, the lighting and heating were modernized in the school building, a record track was created in the yard, and the interior renovation work and the reconstruction of the kindergarten yard games were also carried out.
The State Secretariat for Church and Nationality Relations of the Prime Minister's Office provided HUF 26.4 million in extraordinary support to the institution for the liquidation of the storm damage on June 27, 2019.
