The Hungarian and Slovak buildings of the Komárom fortress system are being developed with Interreg grant funding of over half a billion forints, the project manager informed MTI.
Andrej Ozimy , the director of Pro Castello Comaromiensi, which manages the monuments in North Komárom, said that the central fortress could undergo a one-million-euro development, as part of which the barracks building will be renovated, the ramparts of the fortress will become accessible to visitors, the facade next to the main entrance will be renovated and an information center will be built. . Within the framework of the project, a video showing both fortresses will be created and, thanks to spatial mapping, several parts of the Central and Igmánd fortresses will become available for virtual visits.
In the Igmándi fortress in Southern Komárom, the existing exhibition space, the canteen, as well as the offices, storage rooms and water blocks are being renovated with an investment of half a million euros. In addition, a new heating kitchen will be established, the fortress facade will be cleaned, and landscaping and landscaping will be carried out. The project will be implemented with the support of the Interreg VA Slovakia-Hungary Cooperation Program until May 2023, the leading partner is the Northern District, and the partner partner is the Monostori Fortress Military Culture Center Monument Restoration, Property Maintenance and Utilization Nonprofit Közhasznú Kft.. 85 percent of the investment budget is the European Regional Development It comes from the Fund, the state co-financing is 10 percent in both countries, and the deductible is 5 percent.
