SzegedMa portal published a conversation full of amazing statements . In the video, the opposition's prime minister candidate talked about, among other things, that Ferenc Gyurcsány can no longer intervene in politics because he will not be an influential actor.

He then also stated that the former socialist prime minister was not held accountable for twelve years, which is Fidesz's fault, and for which he sees two explanations.

Either he was innocent, like the lamb born today, or they stole together with Fidesz. There is no other possibility that they could not be held accountable in 12 years

he said.

It also turned out that if he wins, they will join the European Public Prosecutor's Office, and then he will pursue all thieves. But he would create a ministry of accountability and debtors under the leadership of Ákos Hadházy, which would pursue criminals before and after 2010. And that's not all. He will fill the place of Fidesz in the European People's Party - the candidate without a party for the time being - and he is also quite sure that everyone from Brussels will support him. He also said that "unlike Fidesz, I did not vote for same-sex couples living together in '97". (How could he..?), but now he accepts it, although not as a Catholic. Hold on tight, Péter Márki-Zay made really steep claims in the interview given to the SzegedMa portal.

Péter Márki-Zay announced without batting an eye in a video published on Sunday that this country will finally have a real Hungarian prime minister; he was thinking of himself here. (Question, what is the situation with Canadian citizenship...? - ed. ) He also confidently spoke about the fact that he has stuck to his principles up until now and will continue to do so in the future. Anyway, the fault of the system is that politicians are usually identified with theft.

It is no coincidence that I say that we are smarter and do not steal. We have kept our promises for the past four years. I know it's not fashionable for politicians.

- he said, and then he brought up Hódmezővásárhely, which until now had been referred to as a "bleeding" municipality, as an example of how good a leader he is. I mean he…

"We have a gypsy catch-up program that, in a unique way in the country, provides services from the municipality's own money to gypsy families, and even to poor families in general, which the rich can buy for themselves. (…) we also started a retro museum, to say the least. (…) But we raised the salaries of the workers and repaid 5.5 billion of the 10 billion debt of the city that we inherited. So it is possible that if someone does not steal, but develops his settlement smartly, then there are such results. I was not elected by chance, and even now I am very grateful to the people of Vásárhely for the support I received in the primary election."

After telling how the mayor is blessed with super-abilities, who manages to develop the settlement he manages even without money and government help, he ended up entangled in a bit of self-contradiction when he told himself: the municipality actually has money after all. In response to a question, he said that he was quite sure that Gyurcsány would not become an influential figure in domestic political life. We quote verbatim:

"Gyurcsány will not be the most influential representative, nor even the party, since - so I just want to adjust - so it is certain that DK will not have the largest faction. If I had to guess, I would bet on Fidesz, I confess. So Fidesz will be the most influential party in this future parliament. I hope that in the future, this largest faction will no longer be able to prevent what it has prevented so far, from finally making the communist agent files, for example, public. It is a very important objective of ours to join the European Public Prosecutor's Office, which pursues all thieves regardless of party affiliation. So these are very important things, right, also in terms of accountability. If the opposition camp consisted of, say, seven factions, where I obviously want a seventh faction as strong as possible, but we acknowledge that there will be six other opposition factions as well. Well, if we assume that the opposition will have a narrow majority, then even the smallest faction of the seven will be necessary to vote for something."

He highlighted:

"But Ferenc Gyurcsány will have absolutely no greater say in government policy than the smallest faction, since any of them can prevent anything, but none of them can pass something without the others. So, let's say, it will be in the whole parliament, let's say, realistically, every sixth representative is from the Democratic Party, and every second is in the opposition, so Ferenc Gyurcsány will not be dictating. They also probably know that the position of prime minister is an extremely powerful position under public law. In Hungary, since 1990 – as Ferenc Gyurcsány himself says – the prime minister has always had 51 percent of the vote. So, in practice, of course, we strive for cooperation, but the government and the prime minister will not be dragged down by a faction leader."

He then talked about how upset he was that the Gyurcsánys were not accounted for.

"And to be honest, I also said here on this forum that when I last voted with Fidesz back in 2010, they promised that the Gyurcsány government would be held accountable. Why didn't this happen? Fidesz had this for 12 years. Who is responsible for the fact that Ferenc Gyurcsány was not held accountable. There has been a Fidesz government in this country for twelve years. They claimed the last time I voted for them that they would be held accountable. What prevented this reckoning? That's why I told people here that I see two explanations for this. Either he was innocent, like the lamb born today, or they stole together with Fidesz. There is no other possibility that they could not have been held accountable in 12 years."

Of course, he got more and more comfortable with the role of the angry man, in which he apparently felt quite comfortable, so he continued by saying that "Fidesz did not promise that it would steal six times as much or ten times as much as the previous government, but it promised that if someone reaches into the joint, then they cut their hands." But he will come, I mean they, "the non-partisans" and they will solve everything very skillfully. As a dramatic element, Márki-Zay even promised that as soon as they join the European Public Prosecutor's Office, he will pursue all thieves.

And we will set up a ministry of accountability and debtors, or an organization under the leadership of Ákos Hadházy, which will equally pursue the crimes of the opposition and the government before and after 2010

- he said, adding: "This is the program of fair Hungary".

It's over, everyone's had enough of stealing. We are the poorest country in Europe because everything here is about theft. This must be stopped, this thieving government must be replaced

argued Péter Márki-Zay, who also stated:

"I think, to give an example, that we will build four times as many highways as this current government program. And I guarantee you that they will finally get a real Hungarian prime minister who will not serve Chinese but Hungarian interests."

In response to a question, he stated that, unlike Fidesz, he did not vote for cohabitation of same-sex couples in '97. (How could he..?)

"They were very anti-clerical, anti-church liberals, and they were big supporters of gays and big supporters of Soros. So I say, I was already conservative then. We have always reached the point where I, as a Catholic in the Church, would obviously not support same-sex marriage, but in the case of the state, I also accept that same-sex couples should be given the same rights. (…) So I see that there is such a demand, otherwise, according to surveys, the majority of Hungarian society supports it. It surprised me too. So, how liberal this country is - if you like - that people are so accepting, this is a very good thing, and especially for Fidesz, which has the most gay politicians. We want a country where even Fidesz politicians can openly accept their homosexuality, because there is no shame in it."

- said the well-informed MZP, who also believes that people expect real opposition unity.

"...we could say national unity, which we would like to add, so that conservative people who have voted for Fidesz, like me, center-right, Catholic, Christian Democrat, or conservative people belonging to any religious organization, would feel that they have a worthy representation within the opposition. Therefore, I not only asked for a seventh faction from the opposition parties, but I also asked for and received the support of the European People's Party. We held a press conference in Warsaw last week with Donald Tusk and the leaders of the European People's Party, who got rid of Fidesz not so long ago. So we will enter the European conservative party family in the place vacated by Fidesz."

Although he did not explain how he envisions this without a party... He then returned to his favorite topic, Viktor Orbán, with a loose twist.

Viktor Orbán is like Ferenc Gyurcsány.

- he said, and then announced that "the only decent behavior" is what he represents. He also revealed that although he knows that a mayor can act much more usefully than an opposition representative, the opposition representative has attractive features, so he would prefer it, just like his beloved relative, Ákos Hadházy, who "could also serve as an opposition representative this country".

But he can imagine himself mostly as prime minister. And if it doesn't work out, he'll be a very happy mayor, even though he might not. Because then "I will be an unhappy mayor if the opposition does not win, my profit is not the important thing". Finally, he talked about how

in a communist party state, there cannot be an independent settlement and there cannot be a non-submissive mayor, these people are persecuted with fire and iron even now and will continue to do so in the future.

It turned out that MZP also has a talent for fortune-telling: he predicted already in 2018 that "this country will be emptied, depopulated, it will become the poorest and most corrupt country in Europe, where the most people will die". According to Márki-Zay, this is also why it is necessary to "get rid of this endless con, malicious and stupid government".
