The construction of the Budapest Multifunctional Sports and Events Hall in the IX. on Üllő út in the district, next to the Népliget bus station, PestBuda reports. They added: the 50,000-square-meter hall, which can accommodate 22,022 people, will serve as a venue for sports events, exhibitions, and conferences, and will first be the home of the European Men's Handball Championship starting on January 13.

The external lights are provided by 2,800 light fixtures and 3,300-meter-long LED strips. A projector with a surface area of 700 square meters will be placed in the hall. They say that the paving of the outer areas and the design of the garden have now been completed.

They emphasize: the facility will be the main venue of the joint Hungarian-Slovak men's handball European Championship starting on January 13, 2022, but due to its size, not only handball matches, but even hockey matches can be held there. Since its parameters are also suitable for indoor sports, it is also suitable for tennis, skating, martial arts, basketball, volleyball and badminton matches, weightlifting, fencing, gymnastics, and even for some equestrian and motorcycle competitions.

Due to its technical solutions, the hall also offers the opportunity to organize events with a particularly high attendance, so it is also suitable for hosting large-scale concerts, conferences, exhibitions and events. The arena was designed by György Skardelli, the sports hall was built by Market Építő Zrt.
