The government realizes a very important national political goal when it supports Hungarian entrepreneurs in the Carpathian Basin, since through the entrepreneurs we support Hungarian people, we contribute to the support of Hungarian families and the development of Hungarian regions - stressed János Árpád Potápi, the Prime Minister's State Secretary responsible for national policy, on Wednesday in Topolya, Vojvodina's economic at the opening of the second round of the mentoring program.

He added: the number of Hungarian entrepreneurs in the Carpathian Basin is in the tens of thousands, it is about forty thousand people, and the State Secretariat has contacted about five thousand entrepreneurs in recent years.

Tens of thousands of entrepreneurs received support in the Hungarian government's economic development program, which contributed to the Hungarian people being able to prosper in their homeland and to reduce emigration, he emphasized.

János Árpád Potápi pointed out that Vojvodina was the initiator of several national political initiatives. One of the most important of these is the acquisition of dual citizenship, which was raised here for the first time. Later, it grew into an initiative of the Carpathian Basin and, together with other initiatives, contributed to a radical change in Hungarian national politics.

The politician thanked the Hungarian Association of Vojvodina and the chairman of the party, István Pásztor, for the help he provided in the implementation of the national policy. István Pásztor, the president of the Vojvodina Hungarian Association, pointed out in his speech that minority Hungarian politics can only be conducted if one builds the community network day by day, because the carrying capacity of this network determines how legitimate minority politics and advocacy are.

The needs of the community change over time - explained István Pásztor, adding that in recent years, community building has also extended to the area of the economy, so it was possible to turn economic development into a national political tool.

The president of the Vojvodina Hungarian Association emphasized that the mentoring program is also important because medium and large entrepreneurs pass on the knowledge they have accumulated over the years to beginning entrepreneurs so that they can operate more successfully. Bálint Juhász, executive director of the Prosperitati Foundation, which implements the Hungarian government's economic development program in Vojvodina, highlighted that 25 mentors and 50 mentees participated in the first cycle, so a total of 75 businesses were involved. In the second round, there are already twenty-seven mentors and sixty mentees, one of whose important tasks is to get to know each other and to be more successful together.

Budapest initially allocated HUF 50 billion for the first phase of the Vojvodina economic development program, 2016-2018, but later the budget was increased. In the program, the greatest emphasis was placed on agriculture, tourism, and the development of small and medium-sized enterprises, the goal was to stop the migration of young people abroad and to reverse the process. The second phase of the economic development program started in 2019.
