Vasarnap.hu's journalist spoke with Cardinal Péter Erdő about the preparations for this year's celebration at the presentation of the commemorative book "The Encounter" of the 52nd Budapest International Eucharistic Congress (NEK) and the book of interviews with NEK reporters.
Three months after the Eucharistic world event in Budapest, the commemorative book of the 52nd NEK, entitled The Encounter In its preface, Cardinal Péter Erdő gives thanks for the congress. When Father Cardinal recalls the huge and serene holy procession from Kossuth tér to Hősök tér - which was undoubtedly one of the highlights of the meeting - he says:
"It was as if we were all together, as at that time the disciples were with Mary in the upper room, when the Holy Spirit descended on their entire community. Not just mass psychology! One level higher reality! That former community is now us."
"And since then, in many communities, they watch it again, listen to the testimony of one or another speaker, and draw inspiration from it for the renewal of our church. Because at the same time we read, learn, quote the work and message of the historical Christ, and experience that we can be in a direct, personal relationship with him, which sustains and uplifts us. Thanks be to him for the Eucharistic World Congress!"
