The Hungarian House of Hungary's activities in the last ten years and the cultural heritage of Hungarians are presented in the traveling exhibition The first ten years, which can be seen for the first time at the Szent Máté Cultural Center in Budapest.
In the past ten years, the House of Magyarság has organized thousands of events in the Carpathian Basin and in the diaspora with the participation of more than two thousand speakers, recalled the director of the institution at the opening of the exhibition on Monday.
According to Krisztina Csibi, their events covered a wide range of themes: in addition to theater, film and music programs and fairy tales, she highlighted the Unlimited! program's unusual hours and the four-day festival held in October in the Rákóczi Castle in Bors.
Károly Pánczél, Member of Parliament (Fidesz), Chairman of the National Cohesion Committee, emphasized: it has been a wonderful ten years behind the House of Hungary. As he recalled, a hundred years ago the Trianon decision tied Hungarians in knots, and then the referendum on dual citizenship caused a "spiritual Trianon", so thanks are due to those who served the cause of national reunification, including the House of Hungarians, he said.
According to him, the institutional system of national politics has been established over the past ten years: there is a deputy prime minister, a state secretariat for national politics, the Forum of National Cohesion, the Hungarian Permanent Conference and the Diaspora Council, but the Gábor Bethlen Fund Management Organization and the House of Hungary have also been established. . One of the outstanding events of the past ten years was the We, Magyarok exhibition of the House of Magyarság, and the exhibition of the institution that has just opened is also about a positive image of Hungarians, a sense of responsibility towards each other - Károly Pánczél praised the institution's programs.
The exhibition titled The First Ten Years recalls the ideas, initiatives and programs of the House of Hungary in ten large suitcases.
The exhibition presents the natural and built beauty of Hungarian landscapes abroad, the up-and-coming ambassadors of contemporary Hungarian art, literature, music and drama, the realm of fairy tales and the rich flavors of Hungarian cuisine. Finally, the visitor can listen to unusual lessons and take a look at Mátyás Hunyadi's royal court.
The exhibition can be visited for free until January 20 on the first floor of the Szent Máté Cultural Center (D50) in Damjanich Street. According to the plans, it will travel around the Carpathian Basin and reach the diaspora.
