The importance of strengthening nations, as well as the need to protect sovereignty and values, were emphasized by the speakers at the round table discussion entitled "Home before everything" at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC Hungary) on Thursday in Budapest.

István Kovács, the strategic director of the Fundamental Rights Center, emphasized that, similar to communist and fascist methods, representatives of the woke movement also try to distort people's common sense.

They try to impose their ideology on people, and when they don't succeed, repression comes, and later violence - he explained, adding: this is because people let history repeat itself over and over again.

Our world is undeniably changing, but nations are still needed in the future - emphasized István Kovács, who said that "there are two paths ahead of us, and both will bring about the renaissance of nations."

One possible scenario is the fall of Western civilization, after which newly strengthened nations (Russia, China) will define the world, he said. And the other possibility, he continued, is that the nations that made Western civilization great will become stronger again.

Valerie Huber, president of the Institute for Women's Health (United States), pointed out that national sovereignty is under constant attack. That is why we need governments that are not influenced by external forces, he said. He put it this way: if the countries protect their values, then the ideological warfare between the nations will not be effective.

He noted that Pope Francis' visit to Hungary also summed up well why it is important to put the nation first. According to Valerie Huber, we should not give in to ideological colonization and the external pressure that wants to impose policies on the country that the nation does not want.

He also touched on the need for more effective communication in the defense of conservative values, because

"Liberals are pushing forward, step by step, unnoticed."

Guglielmo Picchi, former Italian State Secretary for Foreign Affairs, said that there is currently a war against values in Europe, and the attack must be repelled. "We have to fight for the nation and our values," he underlined, adding: the situation is not good, but the foundations are clear.

According to the politician, it will be possible to see in 25-30 years whether the conservative alliance is successful, because the creation of the current situation and the attack on the nations were started decades ago by the liberals.

If the fight against the woke ideology is successful, the conservative world can win this conflict of values, he pointed out.

Mark Ivanyo, director of Republicans for National Renewal (United States), said: a nation consists of people who share a common language, culture, and values. It's not just a piece of land, it has borders that need to be protected, he continued. He pointed out the importance of patriotism and said that the first priority should always be the people.

We do not want the "transgender" ideology to be spread among young people, he declared, and then called it important to preserve the unity of families.

Harald Vilimsky, EP representative of the Austrian Freedom Party, emphasized: only those who love their own language and culture can love others. When asked what the nation means to him, he answered that the nation means commitment "toward our own language, culture, history, and future."

The representative called it important that politics should always put the nation first and that national values should be prioritized in as many spheres as possible, for example in the labor market or in education. As an example, he mentioned that in Austria, local service providers receive additional support in the field of gastronomy, because they are increasingly displaced by Turkish, Chinese and Vietnamese restaurants.

They want to force Hungary to replace its national identity with uncertain and hard-to-define identification points.

There is a leading religion in Europe, which is not Islam, he pointed out, adding: it is necessary to show the voters that Europe is proud of its Christian values.

"The American government and the Western elite do not like Hungary because Budapest does not follow the pre-written script. While there is a part of the West in the broader sense that does not like itself, Hungary likes both itself and the West," said Michael Anton after the round table discussion.

According to the conservative American politician, it would be difficult to remove the determinants of American foreign policy from their positions even if the right wing wins again in the United States in 2024.

"I don't want to raise groundless hopes about the American elite, even though it has never been so far from reality as it is now. It does not represent the interests of the people, this will create political tensions before we can start moving in a more positive direction".

In his speech, Simone Billi, a member of parliament from the Italian Lega, said that the European directives on the agenda regarding sustainability are not rational, they lack a vision for the future and take into account the problems of ordinary people.

According to the politician, in order to overcome global challenges, virtue should be forged from the opportunities arising from Europe's diversity. Regarding immigration, he said that people fleeing war and in particularly difficult situations should be accepted,

at the same time, it must be taken into account that the continent's population of 700 million is opposed to the approximately 2 billion population of Africa and the Middle East.

Congresswoman Debbie Lesko from Arizona greeted the participants of the CPAC in Budapest in a video message, who stood up for the protection of freedom and family values, against the worldwide spread of woke and gender ideology, and against the dominance of large international corporations.
