More than a hundred thousand kilos of donations were received.

According to the organizers, there was a company - Kerekes Kft., the headquarters of the Privát food chain in Ebes - that donated 16,000 kilograms of food to the needy. This was the largest donation of the past 17 years of the Mikulásgyár, said Endre Zsolnai, the main organizer of the Mikulásgyár, in the announcement.

One of the largest fundraising campaigns in the country was open for 21 days, during which time 107,000 kilograms of donations were received, more than 75 percent of which were non-perishable food and cleaning and hygiene products. Donors also brought toys and warmer clothes, they explained.

Philanthropists could drop off their donations on Dózsa György út, at the 56 square, in the Pólus Center and at major post offices in the country. With the help of Magyar Posta, nearly four thousand kilograms of gifts arrived in Budapest, according to the announcement.

They noted that the amount of gifts may continue to increase, because for the second time this year, several collection points were operated in Germany, from which not all donations have yet arrived.

This year, the Santa's Factory charity event was organized for the 17th time. The collected donation will be distributed by the Oltalom Karitatív Egyesület and the Hungarian Red Cross on the basis of need.
