The Hungarian economy grew by 6.4 percent this year, compared to the 6.6 percent drop in 2009 after the previous crisis, Finance Minister Mihály Varga announced in the table "Let the numbers talk" posted on his Facebook page on Tuesday. That is, the

He highlighted: the number of employed people is currently 4.7 million. This is one million more than twelve years ago. The unemployment rate has decreased from 12 percent in 2009 to 3.8 percent today, he stated in the table. The average gross salary has increased from HUF 198,000 to HUF 428,000. The minimum wage will rise from HUF 75,500 to HUF 200,000 as of January 1. The personal income tax was reduced from 36 percent to 15 percent, the employer's tax was reduced from 33.5 percent to 13 percent from January, and the corporate tax was reduced from 20 percent to 9 percent, he listed.
The minister drew attention to the fact that the value of the investments this year amounted to HUF 15 thousand billion. In 2009, this was only HUF 5,500 billion. While in the previous year after the crisis, industrial production fell by 17.7 percent, this year the performance of industry reached an additional 11 percent. The share of public debt in foreign hands has halved from 60 percent to 30 percent, the share of household foreign currency loans has decreased from 67 percent to 0.5 percent, while the interest expense of public debt has shrunk from 4.1 percent to 2.3 percent, the table states.
