According to the disbursement calendar, the state treasury will start paying the current monthly pensions next week. - As usual, the allowance for the elderly increased at the beginning of the year, this time the pensioners can expect a five percent higher monthly amount - the Deputy Minister of Finance told the Mediaworks News Center. State Secretary András Tállai noted: the two and a half million beneficiaries will receive extra benefits in several ways this year, the first one soon, in a little more than a month.
The state treasury will pay the 13th monthly benefit in mid-February, which will correspond to the amount of a full monthly pension. András Tállai added: as a 13th month pension, the beneficiaries are also entitled to this year's monthly allowance, increased by five percent.
Since, according to the forecasts, the economy will grow by more than 3.5 percent this year, the government set aside money for pension premiums this time as well.
- Last year, the country achieved an outstanding economic result, when all two and a half million beneficiaries received the maximum premium, a one-time benefit of eighty thousand forints. There was no such thing before - recalled the deputy minister.
András Tállai finally brought up the issue of reducing utilities. - Today, energy prices in the region are soaring uncontrollably, Hungary being the only exception. Hungarian society is not affected by this phenomenon due to the reduction in utilities, said the state secretary. According to his statement, the reduction in utility costs means an average of HUF 300-400 thousand savings per year for pensioners.
