In 1846, the interdenominational, International Evangelical Alliance/Confederation of devout Protestant believers was founded, which has been holding worldwide prayer services since 1861. It is held in the first full week of January. This year, members of historic churches and free churches are joining the prayer initiative in nearly 1,000 places in Europe.

A thematic booklet is published annually. This year, the central theme is: Sabbath - Life according to God's rhythm. In the week that begins today, Sunday, they will deal with the various content elements of the Sabbath, God's Sabbath. Identity, care, peace, mercy, remembrance, joy, generosity, hope - these are the key concepts for each day of the week.

As they say: it's about much more than spiritual wellness. About cleansing and refreshing each person's own soul.

The prayer serves for the churches and religious communities to beg for a healthy life, outlook on life, and life practice to the brothers and sisters living in different regions of the world, they even talk about a healthy religious life, they celebrate it with "heavenly and earthly music, but also dance". The one who makes all this possible: the living Jesus Christ. He is the spiritual and real axis of their 176th worldwide prayer.
