Balázs Bús, representative of Óbuda-Békás County and former mayor of the district, addressed Gergely Karácsony in an open letter. Balázs Bús wants to protect the Mocsáros vineyard from development, so he asks Karácsony to "extend the classification of green public park to the entire Mocsáros vineyard in the Capital City Settlement Structure Plan".

"Open letter
to the Mayor of Budapest, Gergely Karácsony,
in order to protect the Mocsáros vineyard

Dear Mayor,

For months, the population of Óbuda has been kept in a state of uncertainty by the district's left-wing city administration regarding the Mocsáros vineyard.

As the former mayor of the district, who observes the life of our district as a local patriot and elected local representative, let me warn you that the key to the solution is now in your hands. In order for you to understand the problem clearly and possibly not only to learn about the situation from the misinformation of your party members, I will briefly outline the problem and its solution.

In 2020, during the revision of the settlement structure plan (TSZT), the Metropolitan Municipality reclassified part of the area of the Mocsáros vineyard - correctly - as a natural area. However, part of it, 268,000 square meters, remained usable. Previously, no one wanted to build in this area - just like in the rest of the Mocsáros vineyard.

The above-mentioned 268,000 m2 of green space is at risk, which can still be incorporated according to the effective settlement structure plan, and a study plan has been prepared for this. I would like to note here that in 2018, this study plan was also presented to us, the then bourgeois-right-wing city management majority. We clearly rejected this even then, and then ordered a ban on changes for the entire area, which is still in effect today. I heard that this by Balázs Barts before the capital commission of inquiry, which also examined other suspicious cases in the case of the scandal of the sale of the City Hall.

Unfortunately, after the 2019 election, this plan was dusted off by the left, and it seems that the current leaders of the capital also considered it acceptable. Protecting the green area of the Mocsáros vineyard is in the interest of all of us. The III. district's current transport network certainly cannot handle the development of residential buildings and office capacity as much as is included in the plans. It would result in traffic jams reaching as far as Szentendre and increasing air pollution.

As I wrote above, I was already convinced in 2018 that no construction should be allowed on the Mocsáros vineyard. As the possibility of the opposite arose, last year we launched a petition to protect the area, which has been signed on paper and online by more than three thousand III. signed by a district resident.

, I would like to request that the Mocsáros vineyard be classified as a green public park in the Capital Urban Structure Plan , in accordance with the III. of December 20, 2021. with the decision of the district representative body, which was put forward by the Civil Faction, and the Óbuda-Békás County Representative Body finally voted unanimously.

Please, that the III. pursuant to the district's decision , the Capital should immediately put the issue on the agenda and support the citizens of Óbuda and the III. the decision of the district representative body.

Let's protect the Mocsáros vineyard together!

Sincerely, Balázs Bús,
representative of Óbuda-Békás County"
