Breaking with the usual routine, the Székelyudvarhely organization of the RMDSZ is preparing for a major opening, which will allow all local, adult residents to vote for the election of the management on February 27.
To do this, you must confirm your existing membership or join the association by filling out a form. Although they wanted to hold a renewal meeting of the Székelyudvarhely city organization of the RMDSZ last year, it was not possible due to health reasons and epidemiological restrictions, Bíró Barna Botond, president of the regional organization of the association, pointed out at Monday's press conference . As he indicated, the city's political establishment is preparing for "the most open and democratic overhaul of the past thirty years", which has never been done by any political party.
The judge pointed out that anyone can vote for the president of the local organization or - out of the thirty-five - for twelve caucus members on February 27, who fills out a statement about joining the party or confirming their membership by the said date. There is no other obligation, and even in this case, the payment of the annual membership fee of six lei is waived.
They are organizing a one-round, standing ballot, open election, in which participants can cast their votes at five locations. With the opening, we want to encourage those residents of Székelyudvar who want to actively participate in public work, but at the same time we want to avoid the criticisms that were formulated by one or two candidates before the 2020 local authority elections, said the president of Udvarhelyszék. By this, he meant that certain persons may have run for office in other political parties because they could not do so within the federation.
