As part of the National Circus Arts Center project, which has been declared a priority investment, a new, modern circus building and artist training center will be built, the latter being transformed from a former locomotive hangar.

The XIV began. Budapest International Circus Festival, whose opening program is the international scientific conference "Circus Buildings in Europe". The National Circus Arts Center planned to be built in the future was also discussed at the event. The project, declared a priority investment, was presented in the Baroque Hall of the Museum of Fine Arts.

At the opening, State Secretary for Culture Péter Fekete spoke, among other things, about how "the new, modern circus building in Budapest, the circus center of Eastern Europe, has the right to exist" , a model of which is also included in the exhibition accompanying the conference.

According to the state secretary, the fact that the soon-to-be-started investment of the Artist Training Institute for the further training of circus artists has been classified as of special importance from a national economic point of view is not only justified by the purpose and magnitude of the investment, but also by Hungary's high ranking in this art branch.

Almost a year ago, last February, it was announced that a dilapidated building, a former locomotive hangar, would be transformed into an artist training school as the first step of the National Circus Arts Center project. As part of the investment, the circus will be built in one part of the area bordered by the Eiffel Square - railway line - Ferdinánd Bridge - Podmaniczky Street next to the Nyugati Railway Station, while the Baross Imre Artist Training Institute Vocational High School for Performing Arts, High School and Elementary Dance Arts will be built in the other half School. The goal of the development is to create a world-class art, education and culture center in Budapest, as can be seen in the visual plan below.
