COVID-19. How can one explain the mass hysteria and the fear that binds us all? Let's approach the problem from a different perspective!

The origin of our fear comes from our character, our nature, our behavior is based on the instincts programmed into us. The most important thing, thanks to which homo sapiens, the human race, did not die out, is the survival instinct, but even more so the survival instinct. Life and our qualities such as increased caution, prudence, or fear are subordinated to this. That is why we generally accept innovations with caution, we are cautious, averse, and afraid of the unknown.

In dangerous situations, people are overcome by mass fear, the "herd instinct" prevails, which paralyzes the individual's ability to act. For example, when an armed terrorist holds a group in check, its members do not dare to resist together, even if they know that the bandit has less ammunition in his arsenal than the number of intimidated. Everyone is afraid that he might be the victim of the shooting.

A similar situation arose with regard to the coronavirus. It is impossible to predict who, when, how, and what consequences this may have. In a community numbering several thousand, if this murderous thing singles out even one person, everyone will be seized with terror. Everyone is afraid that he will be the next victim. Covid has created a new, even more contagious and unstoppable “F” virus – the virus of fear. After all, we instinctively stay away from harmless sneezes, we cover our mouths when we cough, so as not to infect others. From schools, but also from offices, we prefer to send people with colds home to home quarantine.

This new "F" virus is also dangerous because it keeps people in constant tension and fear. Just so oppressive, even subconsciously, yet present stress, which can significantly weaken our immune system, change our mentality, and have no less negative consequences than the uncertainty caused by the economic crisis that occurs at the end of the fear of panic, the deterioration of the quality of life, the impossibility of living.

Carelessness, irresponsibility, populism, and cheap demagogy are inadmissible in matters that affect the fate of the people and the country. In an emergency, the government can introduce any, even the strictest restrictions and prohibitions. And you don't have to fear, don't even fear, those who are angry and dissatisfied.

"The dog is barking, the caravan is moving."

It has already become clear that this mysteriously insidious virus can be asymptomatic, but it can still infect its environment. Moreover, he sends not only the elderly and chronically ill to St. Peter, but also vigorous, healthy people and even children. I think everyone has to take this into account. Should.

The majority of people generally comply with the measures, the necessary restrictions, and pay attention to the prohibitions.

But as we can see, the number of incomprehensible, irresponsible and stupid stuntmen is not small either. And they pose an increased danger to all of us. The more people there are, the more infectious virus carriers there will be, so the greater the probability that I can catch it, the consequences of which no one can predict. He can even send me to the other world, along with many of us.

I am reminded of one of Einstein's witty sayings:

“The universe and human stupidity are infinite. Although I doubt the first one.”

There is and cannot be a law that suits everyone, that everyone understands and agrees with. The government is unable to enforce its measures with everyone, and as we have seen, the posters and notices are unfortunately not enough.

A positive result against the rapid spread of the virus can only be achieved if we act together against those unwilling to cooperate. It is impossible to put inspectors on every public transport vehicle and in every closed room, so don't hesitate to comment on those who break the rules. But not even those who are called (obliged) to order those who break the rules, yet they fail to do so.

Of course, it is not uncommon for violators to have a rude, aggressive reaction to our comment, so I recommend some proven recipes against those who wear masks incorrectly or who do not keep a safe distance:

"Sorry to bother you, but maybe it's no longer mandatory to wear the mask properly?"

Obsession:

"I am on my way home for home quarantine as I have tested positive. But if the mask is no longer mandatory, maybe I will also make my face/nose more free..."

Obsession:

“Excuse me, do we know each other? Maybe I offended you with something? No? But then why do you want to infect me? You can be positive too!"

First of all, let's do more for ourselves, not forgetting the ancient folk wisdom: help yourself and God will help you too!
