Last May, a teacher at a Viennese school "enlightened" the smallest details of sexuality with a female doll to the youngest students of the educational institution. The little girls could even use their "fingers" on the female mannequin as part of the lesson. The city administration launched an investigation.
According to the coverage of Kronen Zeitung last summer, children were very upset by a sex education in a school in Vienna. Using a female mannequin, the instructor explicitly explained "what can be done" to 6-10-year-olds. The instructor also told the children that "girls can use their fingers too". Some of the children were upset by what they heard and were ashamed.
A little boy told the teacher that he didn't want to listen to all of this, to which he was told that he would have to. His parents took him out of school after that. The child's parents told the paper that it would be better if their son went to another school.
They added that the lesson had already had consequences: one of the boys' classmates came over to play with their son, as he did many times before, but this time he tried to pull down their ten-year-old daughter's pants.
The father told the newspaper that during the education it was also discussed that condoms should be used if they do not want a baby, which he considered incomprehensible, since the children do not know what to do with these things, they are too young for it.
Peter Stippl, the president of the Austrian Psychotherapy Association, called the educational class completely wrong. As he told the Kronen Zeitung, this only scares the children and violates their natural threshold of shame.
