Head of delegation Tamás Deutsch stressed: it is a very dangerous practice for European liberals and leftists to turn everything into a political and ideological issue. In addition, they strive for ideological exclusivity by voicing the slogan of liberal democracy.
Tamás Deutsch also drew the attention of the French presidency to the fact that it is not possible to achieve the ambitious climate protection goals without nuclear energy. Which form of energy production is sustainable and green is not an ideological, but only a technological question.
The Fidesz MEP asked the French president not to put pressure on others to make the same mistake of admitting illegal migrants en masse. "The external borders must be protected under all circumstances, not everyone has to be allowed in," concluded Tamás Deutsch.
