Hungary is trying to stay out of this war, but this conflict is taking place not only on the fronts, but also in the economy, and this calls into question everything we are used to. This is why we now have to fight for everything that we have taken for granted until now - said Prime Minister Viktor Orbán on Kossuth Rádió Good morning, Hungary! in his show.

According to the Prime Minister

the battle will take place on two fronts, one is the field of energy, the other battle will be on the labor market,

because all forecasts indicate that Europe is drifting into recession.

Viktor Orbán said that the price of electricity has increased fivefold and the price of gas sixfold recently. According to the Prime Minister, the most important thing would be for Brussels to realize that a mistake was made and that the sanctions policy affects Europe much more than the Russians.

"At first we thought we shot ourselves in the foot with the sanctions, but now it seems that the European economy shot itself in the lung and is now gasping for air"

- Viktor Orban

They thought that the war could be shortened with the sanctions, but the opposite happened, he said. There will be countries where there will be no gas and there will be countries where the price will be very high. Hungary belongs to the latter, the question is how well we will be able to keep the prices at a tolerable level.

In order to do this, domestic gas production increases, an export ban is ordered, Péter Szijjártó is authorized to find new sources of supply, domestic lignite production increases and overheads had to be reduced so that above-average consumers have to pay the market price for the above-average part. or you have to try to fit in the average consumption. According to the Prime Minister, this decision was necessary because, otherwise, the entire overhead reduction would have been in jeopardy.

Regarding the utility reduction, Viktor Orbán explained: the government decided to have the exact numbers. In Hungary, the average monthly consumption for electricity is 210 kilowatt hours per month, and for natural gas 144 cubic meters per month. In the West, the total utilities represent a smaller proportion of people's monthly salaries than in our country, where utilities not only take a third of the income, but even half of it.

That is why it was necessary to introduce the policy of reducing overhead costs - emphasized Viktor Orbán.

The prime minister emphasized that the left never agreed with this.

"They think we should do the same in Hungary as in Western Europe: everyone should pay for what they consumed at the market price," he said.

The left never supported utility cuts, but the right-wing government introduced it. We still want to protect the overhead reduction, said the Prime Minister.

A ceasefire and then peace talks are needed

Regarding the sanctions policy, the Prime Minister said: Sanctions do not help Ukraine, but they are bad for the European economy. If they continue like this, they will "blow up" the European economy. Brussels leaders should admit that they started from wrong assumptions. A cease-fire and then peace negotiations are necessary, because peace is the only solution to this economic problem.

Viktor Orbán said in connection with the transformation of the kata that it was a necessary decision. In 2012, they came up with this together with the ministers dealing with economic affairs. In the past, this was called "masks" and they wanted to give them a chance. However, companies have realized that if employees are driven into the kata, then the companies do not have such a burden.

About 300,000 of the 450,000 katas invoice companies, which is fine in peacetime, but not in times of war and wartime inflation.

It is about the pension system, not the budget. What doesn't work is that taxes contribute much less to joint spending. The country can handle 100,000-150,000 workers, but not 400,000, especially not during wartime inflation.

Taxpayers have countless options as to which type of tax to switch to.

Referring to the left-wing politicians, Viktor Orbán talks about the fact that people who did not even vote for the introduction of the kata are now saying that the kata is necessary. The kata will be reserved for those for whom it was originally designed.

The prime minister said that the left lost four times in a row by two-thirds, so he watches their actions with understanding. They have been sitting quietly since April, but now that there is a case that has victims, they will immediately ride this wave and will ride on everything like this. According to the prime minister, this is not a good policy.

In connection with the internal mobilization of the army, the Prime Minister said that this is necessary because of the war, since NATO also commands troops to the eastern border, so we also have to represent ourselves.

Until now, it was possible to hold back migrants on the southern border with soldiers, but the war overrode this.

Illegal migrants are not only more and more numerous, but also more and more aggressive. At the same time, the prime minister emphasized that the faulty policy of Brussels, which does not say that Europe will not accept them, is the reason why migrants are constantly flowing, while Hungary says that they will not reach Europe through us.

The decree on the establishment of border hunting units is already on the table, their inclusion will also push up the salaries of policemen and soldiers. The border protection units will work within the standby police, but with less focused training, explained Viktor Orbán.

War is not in Hungary's interest. Nobody likes this, but when we look for the causes, it's not always about the beneficiaries.

What is certain is that China will win, America will not lose, and Europe will suffer because of the war.

Those who make a lot of money are energy companies and certain businessmen. We are talking about György Soros-type people. The interests behind the prolongation of the war are to be found in various businessmen and instigators.

"What is happening is a disaster for Europe and very painful for Hungary as well. We are working day and night on how we can stay out of an unfortunate European general situation and the deterioration of the situation, and how we can find a path along which Hungary will be less affected by the negative consequences of the war."

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán concluded the conversation on Kossuth Radio.
