The Golden Bull was a response to the challenges of the era that went beyond itself and its era, the Minister of Justice stated at the opening of the commemorative year in honor of the 800-year-old Golden Bull in Székesfehérvár on Tuesday.

In her ceremonial speech at the town hall, Judith Varga emphasized that every historical era had its own challenges and crises, and the responses of those living in that era were and are still being born to these challenges.

As he added, sometimes the answer will not be successful and will only create another problem, and there are times when a solution beyond itself is created that

"contributes to the constitutional development of a nation, to the further deepening of its identity, as in the case of the nearly 800-year-old Golden Bull issued by the Székesfehérvár Parliament in 1222".

The head of the ministry reminded that the importance of the Golden Bull, among others, lies in the fact that it is the first decree with a golden hanging seal, which contained not only private privileges, but also regulations affecting entire communities, he added.

Judit Varga added in her Facebook post:

"Looking back from the perspective of eight centuries, we can say that the values by which we, Hungarians, can think about our own destiny and mission in the 21st century have crystallized. The nation, sovereignty, Christian freedom and standing up for them, if necessary, even taking on conflicts."

Mayor András Cser-Palkovics (Fidesz) spoke about how proud it is to be a citizen of this city, to be connected to the history of the nation, especially when they remember the era that is decisive not only for the history of Székesfehérvár, but also for the nation.

On the occasion of the 800th anniversary of the publication of Aranybulla in Fehérvár, the municipality of Székesfehérvár is preparing a series of programs covering the entire year, thus paying tribute to the former event that recognized the historical and public law role of the city.
