After a gap of one year, the event commemorating the Day of Hungarian Culture was once again organized in Galántá. The Csemadok awards were also presented at the Csemadok national event. In 2021, Csemadok celebrated Hungarian Culture Day only with an online program, and the awards were presented at a later date, which is why it is a great pleasure that this year, albeit with restrictions, the celebration was held again.
Before the award ceremony, Gyula Bárdos gave a festive greeting, in which he highlighted: since the regime change, we have been celebrating the day of Hungarian culture, it is a great pleasure that Csemadok could finally hold this event again after last year. It is unfortunate that many of our members left during the epidemic period, whose work will be greatly missed.
He quoted Antal Szerb , who about Ferenc Kölcsey : "He raised patriotism to the level of philosophical thought and religious worldview, he found words for Hungarian idealism, he created the nation's prayer."
Gyula Bárdos said: "We are proud to be members of a nation with a history of more than a thousand years, whose culture has always played a decisively important role and continues to play today. In addition, however, we must not forget that this bond also means individual and collective tasks and tasks for us. It is not enough to refer to our greats, to be proud of our wonderful achievements, here, in the middle of the Carpathian Basin, we must accept our national identity and our mother tongue in our everyday lives. It was never easy in the past either, and our current challenges bear witness to this.
It is enough to take a close look at the data of the most recent national census, and we can immediately see what difficult tasks await us in almost all of our regions, if we want to continue to be active participants in the future and not just sufferers of what is happening."
Krisztián Forró , the president of the Association, also welcomed those celebrating the day of culture. He thanked the Csemads for organizing such a meaningful celebration every year. Ferenc Kölcsey finished writing the National Anthem 199 years ago, which became the nation's prayer with Ferenc Erkel's music. Whenever we hear the National Anthem anywhere in the world, we listen to it with beating hearts and heaving breasts. Abroad, the National Anthem has even greater significance, so we feel this way, it is due to the motivation received in the family and at school.
József Berényi , the vice president of the Nagyszombat county municipality and the chairman of the MKP platform, quoted the thought of Csaba Böjte The vice-president connected the awardees with this idea, who said that the awardees of Csemadok are also such people.
