The government recognizes and appreciates the work of the churches, what they do for the country and for the people, said Deputy Prime Minister Zsolt Semjén on Sunday in Miskolc, after the festive liturgy blessing the renovated interior of the Greek Catholic cathedral.
He said: churches have been renovated in recent decades, as have church-maintained schools and social institutions. Zsolt Semjén emphasized that the government has already supported the renovation of more than three thousand churches in the Carpathian Basin and almost two hundred have been built, and the number of church schools has also increased significantly.
The state owes thanks to the churches for this , said the Deputy Prime Minister.
Five years ago, the Greek Catholic church in the center of Miskolc got a new look and the environment was also renewed, and now the internal renovation of the cathedral could be realized.
