The Hungarian Psychiatric Association and the Hungarian Psychological Association did not discuss their position on the child protection law, according to which the new law is dangerous for children's mental health, with either the membership or the wider management. However, the Working Group of Value-Based Psychologists has a completely different opinion and still does not support the integration of these controversial statements into sex education, Vasarnap.hu reported .

According to the founder member of the Hungarian Psychiatric Association (MPT), professor M. Csaba Bánki, the joint statement issued by the Hungarian Psychiatric Association and the Hungarian Psychological Association regarding the law does not even attempt to create the appearance of a real, scientifically based paper. The professor emphasizes:

in the case of any company, the document was not discussed with the membership, nor even with the wider management.

As he put it: "the profession has boiled over, colleagues do not understand why the adult psychiatric society had to get involved in this case instead of the Hungarian Child and Youth Psychiatric Association, since the conclusion of the resolution applies to children. Nonetheless

many people do not dare to take on their opinions publicly, because they see cases in the West where doctors are threatened if they did not use the politically correct therapy"

- said psychiatrist Ede Frecska , outgoing MPT board member, to Hetek.

Clinical psychologist Melinda Hal, workshop leader of the Mathias Corvinus Collegium, member of the Hungarian Psychiatric Association, was not even aware of any extensive consultation. To him, it is also strange why the two companies announced this "position" during the election period, since the amendment to the Child Protection Act has already taken place more than half a year ago.

The Working Group of Value-Oriented Psychologists also reacted to the joint position of the Hungarian Psychiatric Association and the Hungarian Psychological Association regarding the Child Protection Act. According to the board:

"the gender theory's several claims about the nonbinarity of the sexes, the relativization of the importance of biological foundations in the case of gender identity, and its overemphasis in the case of sexual orientation cannot be considered scientifically founded for the time being, and are in themselves loaded with many logical contradictions. As such, we do not support the integration of these controversial claims into sexuality education, which is what the debate is really about.”
