Mihály Gér shared a statement , writing the following:
"Six years ago I was involved in an accident, and my innocence was declared by a final court verdict. I informed the officials of the opposition coalition about this during the nomination process. At the same time, a message I wrote in a private group, which I wrote immediately after the accident, the influence of shock . Although I apologized for my words at the same time, I have to admit: the continuation of my campaign would place a heavy burden on me, my party and the opposition coalition. Therefore, I withdraw from the nomination today. Although I couldn't help it, the incident left deep, indelible marks on me. I am extremely sorry for what happened, and I would also like to express my sympathy to the victims' relatives. I ask the representatives of the press not to search on the subject".
We cannot know from whom the shock will have an effect, but it is likely that the politician of the Christmas Party is the only one who shows shocking insensitivity towards the dead and maimed young people.
