According to Origo's information, investigators woke up Csaba Horváth, the mayor of Zugló. The police are investigating a parking case, the mayor may also be a suspect. We know that it is an internal left-wing showdown that is strongly linked to Ákos Hadházy. The Central Investigative General Prosecutor's Office confirmed to our question that they are investigating a corruption case, and will provide further information later.
According to Origo's information - which Ákos Hadházy and Csaba Horváth have since confirmed on their own Facebook pages - a house search was also conducted today at the mayor's home, the Zugló municipality and the parking company.
Ákos Hadházy immediately started pointing at the governing parties, but this is clearly an internal left-wing showdown, of which Hadházy is strongly a part, because he has written about this matter several times before, and everyone knows his conflict with Csaba Tóth and the Zugló municipality.
The fact that Csaba Tóth may also be involved in the case is confirmed by the fact that, according to our information, the Central Investigative Prosecutor General's Office conducted the house search, and they investigate when a person with immunity is involved. Csaba Horváth does not have the right of immunity - but since his house was also searched, he may also be a suspect in the case - but Csaba Tóth has it as a Member of Parliament from MSZP.
After the Origo article was published, Csaba Horváth acknowledged the search and confirmed that the prosecutor's office is investigating in his Facebook post.
The case has many interesting aspects.
The blog of Ákos Hadházy and Soros, 444, has also frequently written about parking scandals in the capital recently, and the member of parliament regularly referred to insider information. For the time being, it is difficult to say exactly what case the investigators went to the 14th district for, but at the same time
THIS IS NOT THE FIRST ACT OF THE INTERNAL LEFT-WING CONFLICT THERE.
It is known that
ÁKOS HADHÁZY AND CSABA TÓTH PREPARED FOR A SHARP FIGHT DURING THE PRIMARY ELECTIONS,
which ultimately did not take place due to Tóth's resignation. However, the left-wing outbursts did not end here, the actors sometimes attacked each other by calling out personal scandals and sometimes economic abuses.
The current house search can presumably be related to the fact that Hadházy has already written several times about a cross-party parking scam, which, according to his statement today,
HE ALREADY KNEW THAT LEFT-SIDED CHARACTERS COULD BE AFFECTED.
In the articles and video reports published on the subject, the name of Zsolt Fuzik was mentioned before 2010, who was one of the leading figures of the capital's mutyik led by Gábor Demszky even as the head of the BKV. Fuziko was first suspected in 2009, and the complex corruption network has not been fully uncovered since then. Presumably, the current investigative actions may also take place in connection with this.
Update: The Central Investigative General Prosecutor's Office sent a short answer to Origo's questions: "I would like to inform you that the Central Investigative General Prosecutor's Office is currently conducting coordinated procedural actions in several locations, including the building of the Mayor's Office in Zugló, due to corruption crimes. For the sake of the effectiveness of the criminal action, no further information about the procedure can be disclosed, the Prosecutor General's Office is planning to issue a press release on the case soon.
Further update:
The Central Investigative General Prosecutor's Office suspected Csaba Horváth, mayor of Zugló, in connection with the local parking scandal. Accusations against Csaba Horváth: he extorted several million forints from a company.
The Central Prosecutor's Office is investigating the crime of influence peddling and other crimes. In this investigation, he investigates abuses related to the paid parking system in Zugló.
According to the public prosecutor's statement, based on the well-founded suspicion, in 2016 the current mayor - who was then a member of the capital assembly - and his partner in Zugló searched for a company to operate the planned paid parking system, from which they claimed half of their profits.
In addition to all of this, in September 2017, a local politician approached the same company saying that in exchange for HUF 3 million per month, he would not use his influence against the company in the case. In connection with this, the suspect took HUF 3 million in cash on at least three occasions.
Further procedural actions are expected in the extensive investigation, the statement concludes.
