The topics of the Pueri Fabri regional international fine arts competition for children, announced for the thirtieth time this year, are already known. The organizers are expecting entries from talented young creators in unlimited, cross-border topics.

As stated in the announcement:

"with the competition, we want to promote the introduction of talented children who are interested in fine arts, and at the same time we want to strengthen the cultural cooperation between the Hungarian and Slovak populations of the region."

Regarding the topic, the organizers explained: "Since the Pueri Fabri is an international competition, we saw it as stylish to

the theme of the 30th anniversary year should be: UNLIMITED.

How good it is that we are not separated by strictly controlled borders from beaches, ski resorts, shopping opportunities beyond our borders, workplaces, and study opportunities. Even better, we are not separated by strictly controlled borders from our grandparents, cousins, and friends. You can freely go on water tours on Ipoly, and if you feel like it, you can swim freely from one shore to the other.

Why is it good to live without borders, and why is it not good to live within strict state borders? Why is it good that we are not separated by borders? We seek answers to these questions with the help of our works."

The jubilant art competition will be hosted by the former mastermind, Ipolyság. Creators studying in educational institutions can apply for the competition. Entries are accepted in three categories – elementary school, art elementary school and special elementary school. Within this, the incoming material is classified according to age groups.

The range of selectable techniques is very wide. Unique drawings, paintings, reproduced graphics, and works made with combined techniques are welcome.

Deadline for submission of tender works: June 20, 2022 (Monday). Additional deadline: August 22–31, 2022. Please send the works to the following address: Základná umelecká škola – Elementary Art School, Námestie B. Bartóka 1, 936 01 Šahy. The ceremonial results announcement and prize distribution will take place during September in the theater of the Ipolyság Town Hall.

Over the decades, the fine arts competition gradually transformed into an international contest. In the latter period, the settlements of Ipolyság, Ipolybalog, Balassagyarmat and Szécsény organize the event annually in a rotation system.

After the announcement of the results, the prize-winning entries will be presented in the framework of a temporary exhibition at the mentioned locations. As we have already reported, the public could see the works of the 29th year in the Lajos Simonyi Gallery in Ipolyság this January.
