The willingness of the Hungarian people to help is enormous, Hungary is also doing well in its exams as a national team - said the head of state on Kossuth Rádió Good morning, Hungary! in his program on Wednesday in connection with the assistance provided in Hungary to the refugees of the war in Ukraine.
János Áder highlighted: the Hungarian people have demonstrated a great willingness to help several times in the past decades, they had to help people who were in trouble due to a natural disaster, a war conflict, or an epidemic.
He put it this way: "There is a serious tradition of national unity in Hungary both within the country and beyond the borders", and "Hungarian people have always done well in their exams without exception". He added: "we can rightly be proud of this".
The head of state and his wife offered one million forints from their private wealth to help the refugees.
The President of the Republic asked everyone to donate through the "tried" and experienced aid organizations, so that the aid reaches its destination.
János Áder also called for calm, because, as he said, fear follows logically from the war situation, "it is not worth making two out of one problem". He also asked everyone to try to get accurate information and not fall for fake news.
