The Russian-Ukrainian war that broke out on February 24 put many of our Transcarpathian brothers in danger, and the fear of war has now prevailed throughout the Western world. That is why 777 will hold a prayer evening in the Szent István Basilica on Ash Wednesday from 7 p.m.
The event will be attended by, among others, Bishop Gábor Mohos, parish priest of St. Stephen's Basilica, Roman Catholic priest Gergő Bese, Reformed pastor Tamás Márkus and Baptist pastor Dávid Boros. During the joint prayer, Mónika Varga, known from Forrás Pont, provides the musical service.
At the event, it will be possible to financially support the Subcarpathian Families Association, so not only with our prayers, but also with money, we can help our brothers and sisters affected by the war.
777 encourages its readers, not only in Budapest, to organize a similar evening of prayer in the countryside as well. Those who cannot attend the event can join the #peacepeace prayer chain started by the Christian side.
The participants of the prayer chain light candles every evening at 8 p.m. and pray for the peace of Europe and the world, for the peaceful settlement of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict and for the Transcarpathian Hungarians. If you wish, where you said the prayer on the map on the 777 page They also encourage you to take a photo of the burning candle and put it on your social media pages with the tag #peace. This draws the attention of others to the initiative.
