The entire Hungarian nation is united for those in trouble in Ukraine, said the State Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office responsible for national policy in a video message published on his social media page. János Árpád Potápi announced: they are coordinating the collections and aid campaigns taking place in the areas beyond the border.

The state secretary said: it is a cause of deep concern that there is a war going on in our neighbor. At the same time, it is a good feeling to see that not only Hungary, but the entire Carpathian basin, and even the Hungarians of the diaspora, have come together to help the Transcarpathian Hungarians and those fleeing from Ukraine.

As he said, he consulted by telephone with the leaders of the Hungarian communities abroad - László Brenzovics, Hunor Kelemen, István Pásztor, Krisztián Forró, Ferenc Horváth and Róbert Jankovics - and also managed to reach the regional presidents of the Hungarian Diaspora Council. Thus, a decision was made to coordinate the collections and aid campaigns taking place in areas beyond the border.

The sums received from cross-border donations and collections are sent to the Hungarian government's Bridge for Transcarpathia aid program, and non-monetary donations are distributed to those in need through the National Humanitarian Coordination Council.

The state secretary emphasized: the goal is to get help as quickly and efficiently as possible to those who need it.

Not a single Transcarpathian Hungarian and not a single Ukrainian in trouble is alone. Everyone can count on Hungary and the Hungarian nation at all times - emphasized János Árpád Potápi.
