His manager, Danilo Mancuso, was the first to inform the Ansa news agency of the singer's death. As he said, Toto Cutugno has been struggling with an illness for a long time, which has become really serious in recent months. The singer finally died on Tuesday, around 4 p.m.
In 1980, Toto Cutugno won the Sanremo Song Festival with his song Solo noi At this festival, in 1983, he also sang the song L'Italiano (better known as: Lasciatemi cantare), which later became one of the most popular Italian songs of today (he only got 5th place at the song festival ) .
The singer is mourned by his wife Carla and son Nicolo, his funeral will take place on August 24 in Milan. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni also said goodbye to him in a Facebook post.
