The most natural thing is that if a Hungarian community is in danger somewhere, then "Hungary welcomes them home," Deputy Prime Minister Zsolt Semjén declared on Friday in Vásárosnameny, where he handed over a shipment of donations to charitable organizations helping refugees from Ukraine.
At the event, referring to the Russian-Ukrainian war, Zsolt Semjén said that, on the one hand, it is a sad and touching feeling that people fleeing the fighting must be helped, on the other hand, it is also "uplifting and heroic", since the whole country has moved: charitable organizations, churches, and families are helping those in trouble. .
The Deputy Prime Minister responsible for national policy, church affairs and nationalities emphasized that Hungarians from Transcarpathia are "coming home, fleeing home" to Hungary. He put it this way: "because they are at home here, the most natural thing is that if a Hungarian community is in danger somewhere, then Hungary welcomes them home".
He noted that Ukrainians fleeing from Ukraine to Hungary and those from any third country legally residing in Ukraine - "we welcome them here with friendly affection, we help them".
He confirmed that we take care of everyone, the government helps those who stay here find work.
At the event, Zsolt Semjén handed over two truckloads of donations to organizations helping refugees, the Hungarian Red Cross and the Hungarian Maltese Charity. In this regard, the Deputy Prime Minister noted that part of the donation was collected by the Hungarian community in Vojvodina and sent to Vásárosnamény.
"This shows the solidarity that exists between the parts of the Hungarian nation," said Zsolt Semjén, adding that the way the other parts of the nation help the part of the nation in trouble sets an example of solidarity, humanity and Hungarianness to all Hungarians.
