In addition to importing gas, the United States is interested in being able to sell as many weapons as possible in Europe, and those EU countries that support Ukraine with arms shipments only make the situation worse, Georg Spöttle pointed out in connection with the Russian-Ukrainian war. The security policy expert also warned against irresponsible statements that could endanger Hungarian interests and Transcarpathian Hungarians.

- Whether it was about the issue of security or the protection of the Hungarian economy, the government always had the interests of the Hungarian people in mind - emphasized Georg Spöttle in response to a question from the Hungarian Nation, indicating that the right step is not to allow our country to be dragged into this war .

The analyst of the View Point Institute pointed out:

in recent decades, Hungary has maintained good political and economic relations with Russia, as a result of which we - guaranteed for decades - buy Russian gas five times cheaper than the European market price. According to him, this agreement should not be played with regard to Hungarian families, since there is an energy shortage in Western Europe, so in the worst case, Hungary would also be forced to supply American gas, which is known to be much more expensive than the current one.

At the same time, the security policy expert highlighted that it is clearly in the interest of the United States to ensure Europe's gas supply, and they have even generously offered to deliver liquefied gas to the Union, of course at a much more expensive price than what Gazprom would offer.

European countries are therefore afraid that liquefied gas will be so expensive that families will have to pay seven to eight times the amount of Russian gas, so the EU is careful with the sanctions against Russia, he said to it.

Furthermore, Georg Spöttle highlighted that, in addition to gas transport, the United States was also interested in selling as many weapons as possible to Europe, and the arms business is also facilitated by the fact that the war against Ukraine has forced many states, including Germany, which spends a hundred billion euros on armed forces to strengthen his forces - encourages him to develop his army.

The analyst responded to how the arms shipments sent by the Germans, Italians, Swedes, Czechs or Slovaks influence the course of the Russian-Ukrainian war:

this step is an intervention that aggravates and prolongs the conflict and increases the number of casualties, but Russia has great power and significant reserves, so it is unlikely that the outcome of the war can be changed by supplying weapons.

In addition, the expert drew attention to the dangers of arming the civilian population.

"If someone doesn't get the basic training needed to carry a gun, like how to assemble a gun, clean it, or the penetrating power of a bullet, they won't be able to use it." So there are a lot of things that should be learned about the use of weapons, but civilians are not faced with them, so even though they act heroically to protect their country, many will fall, warned Georg Spöttle.

Regarding the situation of the Transcarpathian Hungarians, the security policy expert also warned against statements that could put tens of thousands of people in danger.

- The fact that the prime minister candidate of the left-wing alliance called the Transcarpathian Hungarians pro-Russian also endangers those who stayed there. In this situation, Péter Márki-Zay represents one of the biggest national security risks

he added.

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán also spoke on Kossuth Radio's Friday morning broadcast about how Péter Márki-Zay's statement

a wartime complaint against the Hungarians.

The prime minister said: "we know very well that the Hungarians have always had problems in Transcarpathia, and even that there are Ukrainian groups that watch them suspiciously. That is why, when a left-wing politician from Hungary tells the Ukrainians like this, he brings the most immediate danger to the heads of the local Hungarians". Furthermore, Viktor Orbán noted:

sometimes one is at a loss for words in astonishment at what kind of irresponsibility the left can produce.
