I am a woman, a mother of six children, not a politician. But we women are often better at seeing behind things, writes our reader.

I have been following the work of the CÖF for years, I always participate in the Peace Marches with enthusiasm in spirit or in person. I feel that the work of our government and the leadership of our country are in good hands.

March 15 is the holiday of the revolution and freedom struggle of 1848-49. The Peace March, however, like the previous ones, is not only about commemoration. A war situation is emerging. It is not a revolutionary, but a war atmosphere that is now hovering over Europe! We should adapt to this with the guiding principle of the Peace Process!

Now we must not only be a PEACEFUL march commemorating 1848, but a real PEACE march! Which appeals to EVERYONE, regardless of political affiliation.

The Peace March is increasingly being attacked, slandered and misinterpreted with incredible force on opposition websites (see e.g. Kunhalmi's Facebook page). It is blood-curdling that the commentators are inciting against us, as if the government can do anything, as if we agree with President Putin's war action, which has put our country in serious danger, our government in a difficult situation, and faced unpleasant decisions. Viktor Orbán also takes a stand for NEUTRALITY as long as possible. Now we, the Peace March, should also reflect this, make it clear to the country and the world: that we too are marching FOR PEACE. For the peace of our country and Europe. (We know anyway, Viktor Orbán's government, along with patriotic Hungary, which intends to preserve conservative European values.)

WE MUST CHOOSE A PASSWORD, one that does not only affect government sympathizers, but speaks to EVERYONE, the interest of all of us: the password of PEACE !!! But by no means for or against Russia, nor for Ukraine, as the whole of Europe does. Only by PEACE. In addition to the reconciliation of the two parties. (The role of the USA and NATO and the Union should not be discussed now.) Signs and inscriptions criticizing the hostile and anti-national behavior of non-opposition members or the attitude of the Union (rightly) are now needed, but remaining politically neutral, AGAINST the common enemy, the WAR to stand up. After all, it is in the interest of ALL of us that the war, which brings so much suffering and threatens the peace of Europe, ends as soon as possible.

Slogans and banners directed against the opposition (Stop Gyurcsány, Stop MZP, Never again left, etc., which do not have to convince the marchers, because we agree), these do not bring new sympathizers.
With these, we won't convince anyone, we won't put anyone on our side from the camp of the opposition or the undecided. But with the MESSAGE OF PEACE, YES! With this clear MESSAGE OF PEACE, WE WOULD STOP the slander that even in the shadow of war, we only support the election campaign of Fidesz. But we could also have many opposition peace supporters on our side, since PEACE is in the interest of the whole of EUROPE. This is what we must express with this year's peace march. Banners in English, Russian, (Ukrainian) German would take the edge off the attacks on us and Viktor Orbán .
These could then be photographed and filmed by foreign and domestic opposition journalists watching with prying eyes. These recordings can travel around the world! Let's protect the Peace March! KEEP THE PEACE IN EUROPE!
