The four Hungarian Reformed bishops, Beregszász, assured the Transcarpathian brothers of the support of the Reformed Hungarians. The delegation also met with Sándor Zán Fábian, the bishop of the Transcarpathian Reformed Church, and Viktor Mikita, the governor of Transcarpathia, the Communication Service of the Synod of the Reformed Church of Hungary announced in a statement.
The bishops of the Reformed Church of Hungary assured those suffering because of the war of their support and sympathy during their visit to Beregszasz.
Zoltán Balog, the pastor president of the Synod, in his sermon delivered in the local Reformed church, spoke about the fact that the Reformed do not have an armed war, but fight for souls.
The bishop called those who stayed in Transcarpathia at least as important as those who left their homes, who - as he put it - "came home from home".
Károly Fekete , the bishop of the Transdanubia Reformed Church District, reminded the Reformed Transcarpathians that they have been united with them for centuries, and József Steinbach, the bishop of the Transdanubian Reformed Church District, emphasized: we need each other, but we also need divine help beyond human beings. Dániel Pásztor, the bishop of Tiszánin, said about the purpose of their visit: they wanted to express their solidarity with the Transcarpathian brothers.
Sándor Zán Fábián , Transcarpathian Reformed bishop, thanked the Hungarian brothers for their support and emphasized:
In Transcarpathia, 2022 is the year of thanksgiving, and now they can give thanks for the fact that there is peace in their part of the country, and they can be the ones who help the refugees. He added: those who were forced to leave their homes are welcome home.
Katalin Novák , the goodwill ambassador of the Hungarian Reformed Charity Service, also took part in the service and joint prayer held in the Beregsász Reformed Church The organization has been helping refugees and those staying in Subcarpathia since the outbreak of the war. In addition to the donations, the bishops also took a hundred new Reformed songbooks to the Reformed people of Beregsász. - says the announcement of the Council of the Hungarian Reformed Church.
