The Hungarian Jesuits are commemorating the canonization of their order's founder, Ignác Loyola 400 years ago, with a fundraiser to help Ukrainian refugees, a mass to be presented by Cardinal Péter Erdő, and the publication of a biography, the Jesuit Order announced in its announcement.

On March 12, 2022, the order celebrates the 400th anniversary of its founder being canonized in 1622. The founder of the order was elevated to the altar in 1622 together with his companion, Ferenc Xavéri, as well as Teréz Avilai, Fülöp Néri and the XII. lived with Izidor Földműves in the 19th century.

On this special occasion, on Saturday, March 12, from 6 p.m., a holy mass will be presented in the Jesuit Church of the Heart of Jesus, Budapest, VIII. district, Mária street 25.

After the Holy Mass, the newly published biography of the founder of the order, as well as the St. Ignatius stamp of the Magyar Posta, will be presented in the adjacent Párbeszéd Háza (Horánszky utca 20).

The day before, on March 11, the Jesuit Publishing House dedicated a special evening to Father Ignác. Starting at 5:00 p.m. in the House of Dialogue, members of the Szent Ephrem Men's Choir will try to bring Ignác closer to him with contemporary music, details of the biography of the founder of the order, a round table discussion with the translator of the volume and those responsible for its publication.
