The organizers of the event announced the purpose of the Peace March announced for March 15 at a press conference.
László Csizmadia is the founding president of CÖF-CÖKA, jr. Zoltán Lomnici , the spokesperson of the NGO, entrepreneur Gábor Széles Tamás Fricz , and of course the dreamers of the first Peace March, i.e. Zsolt Bayer, András Bencsik and István Stefka , unanimously stated that the Peace March has perhaps never been so relevant, since the traditional goals, i.e. national in addition to preserving our independence and identity, we must now truly believe in peace.
The organizers are unanimous in their opinion that the war in our neighborhood must be ended through negotiations as soon as possible, that the unity of Europe must be preserved in this matter, but the sanctions policy must not extend to the extent that it backfires on European citizens. The demand of the Hungarian opposition and some blind European left-liberal politicians to extend sanctions against Russia to energy carriers would be a straight path to the collapse of the European – and of course the Hungarian – economy.
The route of the Peace March was explained at the press conference: gathering at the Komjádi swimming pool from 12:00 p.m., then following the line Margit-híd – Szent István körút – Bajcsy-Zsilinszky út – Alkotmány utca to Kossuth tér, where Prime Minister Viktor Orbán will give a speech. The organizers ask that those who can bring a Hungarian flag with them, but refrain from political messages, because this occasion is not about political affiliation, but about coming together for peace.
At the briefing , jr. Zoltán Lomnici also presented the recently completed book, which contains the fact-finding findings of the Civil Justice Committee on the crimes committed by the communist government.
